Puppy Package

For puppies ages 8 weeks -5 months

Note: Schedule is dependent on each individual puppy and is subject to change as necessary. 

Puppies must be up to date on Rabies, Distemper, and Parvo Vaccinations to qualify for any social outing

Overview: 

• Home set-up & Management
• Crate Training
• Potty Training
• Common Puppy Behaviors (Chewing, Nipping, Biting, Jumping)
• Socialization & Fear Stage
• Appropriate Play & Toys
• Obedience 

                       Sit, Stay, Down, Come, Look, Leave it, Take It, Drop It, Wait, Impulse Control

• Introduction to Collar/Leash/Harness
• Introduction to Loose-Leash Walking/Leash Manners
• Resource Guarding Prevention
• 1 Socialization Outing
• Handouts & Resources

Session 1: (1.5 hour)

• Home set-up & Management 
• Crate Training
• Potty Training 
• Loading Name with Positive Reinforcement
• Obedience Introduction: Attention (Look), Recall, Sit
• Addressing common puppy behaviors/Appropriate Play
• Introduction to leash/collar/harness
• Resource Guarding Prevention
• Socialization – Puppy Checklist 

Session 2: (1 hour)

• Review of last week
• Obedience: Stay, Down, Intro to Impulse Control, Jumping
• Recall Exercise
• Resource Guarding Prevention
• Loose-Leash Walking Exercise
• Socialization – Puppy Checklist

Session 3: (1 hour) – To qualify, puppies must be up to date on Rabies, Distemper, & Parvo Vaccines. 

Note: This session is not mandatory and can be replaced with obedience training 

• Socialization Outing – Meet at a pet friendly store
• Practice Obedience Commands
• Practice Greeting people 

Session 4: (1 hour)

• Obedience: Leave It, Take It
• Loose-Leash Walking
• Recall Exercise
• Socialization – Puppy Checklist 

Session 5: (1 hour)

• Drop It
• Obedience Review 
• Recall Exercise
• Review any concerns of pet parents choice
