Puppy Package

  For puppies ages 8 weeks -5 months

 
Note: Schedule is dependent on each individual puppy and is subject to change as necessary. 

Puppies must be up to date on Rabies, Distemper, and Parvo Vaccinations to qualify for any social outing

 
Overview: 

• Home set-up & Management
• Crate Training
• Potty Training
• Common Puppy Behaviors (Chewing, Nipping, Biting, Jumping)
• Socialization & Fear Stage
• Appropriate Play & Toys
• Bite Inhibition
• Obedience 

                          - Look, Touch, Sit, Down, Stay, Place, Come, Leave it

• Introduction to Loose-Leash Walking/Leash Manners
• Resource Guarding Prevention
• 1 Socialization Outing
• Handouts & Resources

Session 1: (1.5 hour)

• Home set-up & Management 
• Crate Training
• Potty Training 
• Loading Name with Positive Reinforcement
• Obedience Introduction: Look, Touch, Sit, Come
• Addressing Appropriate Play/Bite Inhibition 

                          - Bite Inhibition During Play – “Ouch!” & attention removal

                          - Resuming Play

                           -Eliminating Bite Pressure – dramatic “OUCH!” & attention removal

                          - Frequent Pauses in Play            

• Socialization – Puppy Checklist 

 Session 2: (1 hour)

• Jumping on Guests
• Obedience: Down, Stay, Leave It
• Resource Guarding Prevention Methods

Session 3: Socialization Outing (1 hour) – To qualify, puppies must be up to date on Rabies, Distemper, & Parvo Vaccines. 

      Note: This session is not mandatory and can be replaced with obedience training 

• Socialization Outing & Checklist – Meet at a pet friendly store
• Practice Obedience Commands
• Practice Greetings
• Loose-Leash Walking Practice

 
Session 4: (1 hour)

• Obedience: Place

Session 5: (1 hour)

• Obedience Review 
• Review any concerns of pet parents’ choice
